Throughout human history and for thousands of years humans' modes of transportation has grown exponentially. From bare feet to rocket ships we keep coming up with new ways to travel. If we humans don't destroy ourselves first, I'm sure that eventually we will be able to be beamed back and forth from the Enterprize to the Earth. Until then, we'll keep on truckin' the ways we know how. Post songs about or whos title supports a mode of travel for people. Whether it be a vehicle, footwear, theoretical, or of fiction. If worrying about how you are going to cruise while slappin' down some tunes is a no-go for you, I can dig that. Do not fret. VVV is always an open thread. Post whatever Rock tunes you wish to share. Post funny memes, pics, or gifs. Tell us about your favorite concert going experience. Those always Rock! One last thing before we put the pedal to the metal. Please have fun and follow VVV's Golden Rules. ¸¸♬·¯·♪·¯·♫¸¸ 𝓟𝓛𝓔𝓐𝓢𝓔 𝓡𝓔𝓒𝓞𝓜𝓜𝓔𝓝𝓓 ¸¸♫·¯·♪¸♩·¯·♬¸¸

Today we're gonna pound back some geritol shooters and party. Even us old geezers like Rock n Roll. So if you've been around a few years like i have, cover yourself with a barrel of Blue Emu and get ready to kick up your heels. If you're young, fetch us some drinks and stand back while we show you how it's done. Songs that reference old or young are what we're looking for today. So as usual if you don't like the theme .....or if you can't remember it...... just post your favorite music videos, pics and gifs as long as they don't break the rules and we'll all have a great time. Feel free to sing along and dance-- YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!!!
Please recommend Vintage Vinyl Video...... Once again, It's time to remember those musicians who have left this mortal coil. I'll start things off by remembering a few of those who left us in 2023. Jeff Beck hit his stride when he replaced Eric Clapton as lead guitar for The Yardbirds. His experimentations with feedback and distortion is credited with laying the groundwork for the Psychedelic sounds that would follow. After leaving The Yardbirds, Beck went on to pursue a solo career as well as touring and recording with other artists. He is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Some will argue that he is the greatest, bar none. They may be right. Tom Verlaine got his start in the New York City punk scene with a band called Television. Musically, he was one of the more interesting artists to come out of that scene, working as a solo artist after the demise of Television and also collaborating with other musicians. Barrett Strong is best known for his recording of 'Money (That's What I Want)', which was the first hit single for Motown. He was also part of a songwriting team with Norman Whitfield, co-writing other Motown hits such as 'I Heard It Through The Grapevine', 'War' and 'Papa Was A Rolling Stone'. Wayne Shorter may be best known to Rock fans as a founding member of Weather Report, for his live performances with Carlos Santana or for his work with Joni Mitchell and other artists that lean more towards Rock 'n' Roll, but I prefer his work with more traditional Jazz artists, both as a sideman with such great musicians as Art Blakey and Miles Davis, and as a bandleader. Astrud Gilberto was married to Joao Gilberto in 1963, when he was working on an album with Stan Getz and Antonio Carlos Jobim. During the sessions, the men decided to let her sit in on a couple of songs. It was her first professional recording. What followed was magic. Let's just say that Astrud stole the show. Shane MacGowan was a pioneer of Celtic Punk as a founding member, lead singer and lyricist for The Pogues. The band was originally called Pogue Mahone, an anglicisation of an Irish phrase that roughly translates into "kiss my arse". It was an attitude that Shane seemed to maintain for most of his life. Sadly, I could go on... we lose so many every year... but I'll leave it to others to continue with the honorable mentions in the comments. Don't limit yourselves to those who died in 2023. Let's remember all the ones who gave us pleasure with their music. And if you want to play some songs by those who still walk among us, please do so. It's always an open thread at The Triple T. Recommend! After working three weeks straight, then the hustle and bustle of Christmas, I finally had some down time. Three days to relax, watch football, consuming good foods and alcohol. But, the first day back is tough. I need to get back on a roll. Post songs about working, making money, paying bills, and struggling. Post songs with job titles in the title of the song. Also post songs that have Keywords in the title like: Work , Job , Money , etc. If playing tunes about work and struggling to make ends meet isn't your idea of chillin', I can dig that. VVV is always an open thread. Post whatever Rock tunes you wish to share. Post funny memes, pics, or gifs. Tell us about your favorite concert going experience. Those always Rock! One last thing before we punch in. Please have fun and follow VVV's Golden Rules. ¸¸♬·¯·♪·¯·♫¸¸ 𝓟𝓛𝓔𝓐𝓢𝓔 𝓡𝓔𝓒𝓞𝓜𝓜𝓔𝓝𝓓 ¸¸♫·¯·♪¸♩·¯·♬¸¸ |
