Happy New Year! Well, OK...not yet. But this weekend presents us with something that only comes about once every seven years. The year will rollover in the same weekend. 2022 ends on Saturday and 2023 starts on Sunday. You know what that means? Time to celebrate! Hahaha...you know me. I'll use any excuse to make some noise. It's party time here at the V so bust out all the old and new tunes you know. You don't have to worry about staying on thread...'cause there ain't no thread! Just let'em rip! Old tunes...
The halls of Triple V are littered with plenty of good ol' rock and roll. To be honest, are halls are littered with more than that! Damn hobbits! LOL! Got a newer band you're into? Please let us hear them! After all, the garage jukebox can always use some new material...
We want to wish all of our friends a very Happy New Year! We'll keep on "keeping on" so ya'll have a safe and drama free place to hang out and listen to awesome music. Feel free to play whatever you're into. That's whole point of it. Good friends, better times and great tunes! Time to get things going...Joe's Garage is now open! Courtesy of Vintage Vinyl Video!

I'm in the mood for another KISS MARRY OR KILL thread. Today we want you to post classic rock songs and let us know if you want to kiss or marry or kill the singer and or the whole band-LOL. If you'd really like to kill a particular singer because their music sucks badly, like say, Justin Beiber, just say his name and put 'kill' (do not post his music) and then post a tune by someone you would like to 'kiss' or marry. It's all in fun and of course we aren't condoning killing people even if they really, really, really suck, like say, Justin Beiber. Your picks can be living or not and as a twist, you can post songs by bands with kissing, getting married or killing in their name or their lyrics. Robert Palmer *** KISS Oh yeah! ***MARRY Cannot think of any singer i'd want to marry but I'd take a few days with Steven Frickin Tyler purely for entertainment value. He has great stories to tell-what he can remember anyway. ***KILL -Besides Justin B as mentioned above, not too many i'd like to kill so here's a 'kill' song *** I went to a party last Saturday night. I didn't get laid, but i got in a fight, it ain't no big thing*** So, have some fun with the theme and if'n you don't like the theme, or you break our house rules, you'll be placed on the 'kill' list. LOL. I kid of course. 😸😁
In that event, just post your favorite classic rock songs and amusing pics and gifs. Feel free to sing along and dance, you know you want to!!!! Peace, Love and Rock n Roll!!! Second line funeral parade for Mac 'Dr. John' Rebennack - 2019 It's time once again to remember those who have left this mortal coil. I'll start by paying tribute to some of my favorite musicians who left us in 2022.
It's always an open thread at The Triple V, so feel free to play music by those who are still in the land of the living. Recommend! Many of us are traveling this Christmas holiday around the country, perhaps around the world, to visit family and loved ones. Be it by train, plane, or automobile, many are covering a lot of miles to get to their destinations. So, let's get the Woody packed and hit the road! Post songs about any place in the world be it a city, state, country, street, road, park, or any place, on the globe, you may travel to. If traveling around the globe isn't your idea of enjoying the holidays, I can dig that. Do not fret, VVV is always an open thread. meaning, post whatever Rock tunes you wish to share. Post funny memes, pics, or gifs. Tell us about your coolest concert experience. Those always rock! One last thing before we hit the road. Please have fun and follow VVV's Golden Rules. PLEASE RECOMMEND Christmas Time is here. I hope you're all enjoying the season and sharing it as much as possible with loved ones. This weekend we are going to have an open thread. Post some more Christmas songs if you aren't sick of them and throw in some funny classic Christmas videos and gifs. If you want to share what you got for Christmas or what Christmas means to you we can do that too. . RULES FOR GETTING THRU CHRISTMAS
*1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they’re serving rum balls. *2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. Like fine single-malt scotch-it’s rare. In fact, it’s even rarer than single-malt scotch. You can’t find it any other time of the year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,00 calories in every sip? It’s not as if you’re going to turn into an eggnog-aholic or something. It’s a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It’s later than you think. It’s Christmas. *3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That’s the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat. *4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they’re made with skim milk or whole milk. If it’s skim, pass. Why bother? It’s like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission. *5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people’s food for free. And lots of it! HELLO!!!! *6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year’s. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you’ll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and a vat of eggnog. *7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don’t budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They’re like a beautiful pair of shoes, if you leave them behind, you will never see them again. *8. Same for pies. Apple. Pumpkin. Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or, if you don’t like mincemeat, have two apple and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day? *9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it’s loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it all cost. For the love of pete! Have some standards. *10. One final tip: If you don’t feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven’t been paying attention. Reread tips: start over, but hurry; January is just around the corner. *****Remember this motto to live by: ******* LIFE SHOULD NOT BE A JOURNEY TO THE GRAVE WITH THE INTENTION OF ARRIVING SAFELY IN AN ATTRACTIVE AND WELL-PRESERVED BODY, BUT RATHER TO SKID IN SIDEWAYS, CHOCOLATE IN ONE HAND, MARTINI IN THE OTHER, BODY THOROUGHLY USED UP, TOTALLY WORN OUT AND SCREAMING “WOO HOO! WHAT A RIDE!!!” Have a safe and peaceful Christmas and enjoy every second. All good things to every one of you and thank you for being here. VVV has been an oasis in a turbulent sea of unpredictable twists and turns but this place is the one thing i can count on to be here when i want it and need it. Let us commemorate the Solstice with songs of day and night, darkness and light, the sun and the moon and fires burning bright. Songs of magic and blessings, feasting and drink, and songs of winter will also satisfy. And if you wish to play a few Christmas songs, that will be most apropos. Just call me crazy. It's all about being sick in the head.... ... doing those things that a sick mind can drive a body to do... ... and those bad habits that might send a soul down the road to ruin. Don't feel like hanging out on the dark side? That's cool. Shining a little light in the darkness is always welcomed. Play what you will. Recommend! |
