Hello, everyone. Today Disqus hasn’t been playing well with others, it seems. Added onto that, we have reached that Sunday night/Monday “sweet spot” that I’m sure has you all dancing in the streets. So tonight, the topic will be......no topic. Just post what you feel and let’s have ourselves a relaxation day here on VVV.
However, if you’re someone who just feels lost without a topic, then your mission is to find songs with blue in the title. Easy enough. But as I said, it’s encouraged to simply post whatever music you like tonight (within the guidelines, as always). Either way, make sure to enjoy yourselves. The Peace and Love Era gave us a magic bus load of great music from talented artists. The Who, The Stones, Cream, Elvis, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Beach Boys, The Doors, Aretha Franklin, The Kinks, Ray Charles, The Animals, CCR, Grateful Dead, James Brown, Smokey Robinson, The Righteous Bros., The Shirelles and Ike and Tina Phew! You get the idea. I am not sure if it was the drugs or not but the creativity of musicians and artists was at an all time 'high'. Back when 'lay it on me" and 'give me some skin" meant totally different things than they do today and a troll was a doll with hair like Don King. The people were groovy and the music scene was outta sight!!!!! Of course, most of those flower children have grown up to become the establishment they once rejected but we can still enjoy the good vibes from the musical gold they left behind. As always the theme is a jumping off point so if you're not diggin' the 1960's theme, that's a bummer but you can just play whatever turns you on. We would love to hear it. Peace!!! Feel free to sing along and dance.. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!
I am pretty sure you all are absolutely in need of a diversion from the insanity of politics right now, so let's think of something more pleasant and give our sanity a break. Women and cars and the dudes that love em. Led Zep talkin' bout love, talkin bout women as cars ** Ooh, trouble-free transmission Helps your oil's flow Mama, let me pump your gas Mama, let me do it all Talking 'bout love, ah Talking 'bout love, oh Talking 'bout My Boy Eric!!!!! There was long one's, tall ones, short ones, brown ones Black ones, round ones, big ones, crazy ones Out of the middle, came a lady She whispered in my ear Something crazy She said, Spill the wine, take that pearl As always it's open thread so if you don't like the theme, we don't judge, just play your fave tunes and 'stuff'. We would love to see and hear them. Let's get this party started this fine Saturday Eve. FEEL FREE TO SING ALONG AND DANCE--YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!!!!!
Personal pronouns that is. It doesn’t get any easier than this. Just post your favorite Rock n Roll songs that have a personal pronoun in the band name or title. That’s it. Bang! Bang! Bang! Howdy, my friends! Every now and then, I’m in the mood for something LOUD! Sure, I have a quieter side…but not tonight! Ya dig? Keywords…OK, how about Loud, Shout, Scream, Bark, Howl, Noise…and Thunder…that should do for now. But don’t stop there. This thread is all about tunes designed to make our ears hurt! You know the tunes I mean. Crank ‘em up tunes… Let’s make the new neighbors flash their lights at us, it’s about freakin’ time anyway! Now hold on, if yer not into loud, then post up whatever you want. We do have our rules, but if it’s great music…well…rules were meant to broken. There is one song I’m looking to feature…post it and you get the top spot! Just remember to recommend and tag any friends that you think will enjoy good times and good tunes with good people! Besides, a good loud howl…does a body good! What Wilma is trying to say is, let's post Rock songs that have a word that starts with the letter "W" in either the song title, album name, or the band or artist name. Pretty straight and forward, so let's do Wilma proud and not get her hair all up in a frizzy! Besides the "W" thing, Wilma wants to celebrate some Rock Stars birthdays today. Play any song ever recorded by these Rock Stars: Bruce Springsteen Ray Charles John Locke - Spirit, Nazareth Jerry Penrod - Iron Butterfly, Rhinoceros Bryan Maclean - Love Steven Severin - Siouxie and the Banshees Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal - Art of Anarchy, Asia, Guns & Roses, Lita Ford, and more If you dont care for the "W" thing and you couldnt care less about birthdays, I can did that! Do not fret, VVV is always an open thread. So come on in and post all the Rock & Roll tunes you like or listen to all the kickass tunes being played and say hello to some friends. Wilma will be here, she is like a social butterfly, shakin' her tail feathers as she mingles Oh and one last thing! We dont ask much from ya, except that you have fun and follow the Golden Rules.
Today I feel like a number .. or more than one number. We’re looking for songs with numbers or math etc in the title, lyrics or band's name. An easy Tuesday theme after a manic Monday . So if you’re not liking the theme that’s ok too. We’re always open thread here on VVV so post your favorite songs. As long as you follow the house rules we won’t have to 86 or deep 6 y’all. Have fun and feel free to sing along and dance. You know you want to !!!! By Infadelicious
One neat thing about music is how well it fits with movies and television. That will be our focus tonight. Post songs made famous from a movie or tv show. Post songs that were already famous but were featured in a favorite movie or tv show. Post songs that may have only been sung or played exclusively in a movie or tv show but were never actually singles. Post songs that may not have been in a movie or tv show, but you think would have fit well in a specific movie or tv show you had in mind. As always, if the thread ain’t your style, just remember it is an open thread. Some people forget that. Enjoy.
