Running... Walking... Dancing... Hopping, Skipping, Leaping, Jumping... Twisting, Crawling, Rolling and Tumbling... You gotta move... Feelin' lazy tonight? Just wanna veg out on the couch, maybe drink a beer or three? That's cool. There's songs for that too. Recommend! It's that time of the year, with the kids out of school, that folks start to head out for their summer vacation. Pack plenty of sun screen! The beaches are open and the water is warm! The beach isn't our only destination, we can go anywhere we wish, do whatever we want, with whoever we choose. Post songs about any destination, songs about the things we may do on vacation, and songs about the people we are with while on vacation. If you don't consider dragging the litter around on vacation is the cat's meow, then do not fret. VVV is always an open thread. Meaning, post whatever Rock tunes you wish to share. Post funny memes, pics, or gifs. Tell us about your favorite Rock concert you have experienced. Those aalways 🎸! One last thing before we pack the station wagon and hit the road. Please have fun and follow VVV's Golden Rules. PLEASE RECOMMEND Hello my friends and welcome back to my Garage! It's Friday night and you know where we're headed...Yup! The Garage calls. This weekend, let's post up all the tunes and bands with a body part in the title or name. EYE LEG SHOULDER
Next...let's throw in all the ones that celebrate the things we can do...with the greatest organic machine ever created... DANCE RUN SEE
At Vintage Vinyl Video, we keep the doors open so that ya'll always have a place to chill and relax. Play some good tunes and maybe chat with a pal. And if you want to go off thread...feel free. It's never about the thread, it's about the music. Passengers, the captain has lit the "departure" light. Please return to your seats and make sure your traytops and seatbacks are in their upright and locked positions. Thank you for flying (cough, cough) GarageAir! Hahahaha!!! It's been a long week and it's time to party!... so today we're making it easy for you and for me. LOL. We're looking for songs with the days of the week in the title or lyrics. Heck, months and years are good too. The theme is just a jumping off point so if you don't like it...you're banned! LOL I kid! If you don't like the theme, just post your favorite songs, gifs and pics. We would love to see and hear them. Have fun and feel free to sing along and dance. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!!!!!
Gonna continue the summertime theme with songs about that favorite hot weather pastime... pigging out. It's all about the food tonight. That means banquets, barbecues and picnics. It's about the ways we procure the bounties of summer, such as by gardening... ... or by fishing. It's about food that comes from barns and pastures, that's grown in the dirt or plucked from trees... ... and the places we gather to feast together; beaches, meadows, woodlands, parks and backyards. Not hungry tonight? That's cool. You can bring the drinks. Recommend! Finally, Summer has arrived! Right on time too as another 95-100 degree sunny day is expected. Time to go on vacations, to the beach, the park, or just lying around the backyard pool. Make sure to give plenty of water to the garden and keep your kitties and doggos well hydrated, but most of all, relax and enjoy some Summertime tunes! In celebration of the first day of Summer, post songs about summer and the things we do and places we go. To help us along this idea, post songs whos title contains any of these Keywords: August, Beach, Bikini, Boat, Flower, Garden, Grass, Heat, Holiday, Hot, Ice Cream, July, June, Lake, Ocean, Park, Relax, Rose, Sea, Season, Summer, Storm, Swim, Sun, Thunder, Trip, Vacation, Warm, etc. If Summer happens to be your least favorite season, I can dig that. Do not fret, VVV is always an open thread. Meaning, post whatever Rock tunes you wish to share. Post funny memes, pics, or gifs. Tell us about your favorite Rock concert you have experienced. Those always rock! One last thing before we make Summer official. Please have fun and follow VVV's Golden Rules. PLEASE RECOMMEND Howdy all and welcome back to Joe's Garage! This weekend, let's turn our lyrical sights on People, Places and Things...Proper Noun Style... People Places Things
What have you got playing? Throw down a song with a name in the title. Hang on...It's the weekend and you know what that means. It's Garage time at Triple V. So suspend the rules and play whatever you want. We keep the back door open. Vintage Vinyl Video exists for one reason. Sharing tunes! Without further ado...ladies and gentlemen...Let's ROCK! Say what you want about Detroit but you can never take away the fact that some pretty kick ass rock bands come from there and it is after all, Motown. Here's some for starters: Alice Cooper * Ted Nugent (close enough) * Eminem * Kid Rock * Aretha Franklin * White Stripes * Aaliyah * The Temptations * MC5 *Bob Seger * Suzi quatro * Madonna * George Clinton * The Romantics * Porcelain and the Tramps *Sonny Bono * Rare Earth * Chairmen of the Board * The Von Bondies * Walls of Jericho * Insane Clown Posse WTF is Motown? 1. slang name for Detroit 2. music released on or reminiscent of the US record label Tamla Motown. The first black-owned record company in the US, Tamla Motown was founded in Detroit in 1959 by Berry Gordy, and was important in popularizing soul music, producing artists such as * Marvin Gaye * Stevie Wonder * The Supremes * The Jackson Five * The Temptations * Martha & the Vandellas * George Clinton * The Commodores * Gladys Knight & the Pips * The Four Tops * Boyz 2 Men * Marvin Gaye* The Isley Brothers * Tammi Terrell * Thelma Houston * Rick James * Michael Jackson * Billy Preston * The Undisputed Truth * The Pointer Sisters * Beyonce * Edwin Star Today as always, is an open thread, so post whatever music, gifs and pics blow your hair back. We would love to see and hear them. Let's get the party started mkay? Feel free to sing along and dance.... YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO. ;-)
It's all about the guitar tonight. I'll kick things off with a few of my favorite pickers and shredders. First is Ron Asheton, best known for his work with The Stooges. The way he played feedback was a full throttled assault. Next is Johnny Winter. No one shredded a guitar like Mr. Winter or made it sound so raunchy. Then there's Johnny Thunders, who got his start with the New York Dolls. Thunders didn't just play his guitar. He made it laugh, holler, snicker, growl and smirk. Can't forget Link Wray, "the father of the power chord". Link released 'Rumble' in 1958. It was the only instrumental that was ever banned on the radio. Guess some folks thought teen-age boys would start acting like hoodlums if they listened to it. As for my very favorite guitar slinger, that would be Hubert Sumlin, best known for his work with Howlin' Wolf. Always loved the way Mr. Sumlin made those strings pop. Kinda like this... In the mood for a little piano or maybe some horns? That's fine. It's always an open thread at The Triple V so just play some good tunes. Recommend!
