Even though we're about to get hammered with another snow storm this weekend--I know Spring is just around the corner---it has to be!! So, today let's remind ourselves through songs, pics and gifs of the beauty that is on it's way. What are you looking forward to in your garden? Whatever grows is the theme today- even the stuff growing behind Joe's Garage. We're inching closer to warm weather and Mother Nature never disappoints.
Peace, Love and Flowers !

The month of March... In like a lion and out like a lamb (or so it's said) as winter gives way to spring, but not without a fight. For some that means rain and snow... ... for others the wind and rain. For those who live in a place where the weather doesn't change much, it might mean a hot wind. It's all about the weather. Along with the wild weather that blew in this week, inspiration for this thread came from Wayne Shorter, recently departed, who was one of the finest saxophonists. He had an impressive solo career, worked as a sideman with both Jazz and Rock musicians, including Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan and Carlos Santana, and was also a founding member of the Jazz Fusion band, Weather Report. Don't like the weather? That's cool. It's always an open thread at The Triple V, so just play some of your favorite songs. Please Recommend! This idea is my favorite from our good friend, Frodo. But, Frodo is still on his journey, as the Chosen One, to save the world. That damn wizard won't let him come home until he destroys the ring and thus, saves the world. If you see Frodo anywhere, let us know! Frodo's brilliant idea simply goes like this: Post your first song that starts with an "A", then the 2nd starting with a "B", then "C" all the way to the last song you post starting with a "Z". If you do not have enough time to make it through the whole alphabet, then come back later and finish. This thread will be up until Tuesday evening when a new thread begins. If worrying about what letter your favorite songs start with isn't your cup of tea, I can dig that. VVV is always an open thread. Post whatever Rock tunes you wish to share. Post funny memes, pics, or gifs. Tell us about your favorite Lord Of The Ring's character or about your favorite concert experience. One last thing before we start our journey. Please have fun and follow VVV's Golden Rules. PLEASE RECOMMEND Hello all and welcome back to Joe's Garage! This weekend, let's bust out all the songs and bands we know with words referencing size, length or distance in the title...
Not too tough, right? Let's sit back and have some fun...Triple V style! And if for some reason you're not into the thread, that's OK too! Just post up whatever you're listening to. After all, we're here to share tunes, not set limits. Tell you what, just be cool and play nice. That's really all we ask. Soooo...without further ado....ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls... Joe's Garage is open Courtesy of Vintage Vinyl Video Mahalia Jackson, the gospel singer was deeply influenced by the blues (as were musicians from all genres, including rock bands like the Stones and Pink Floyd), said 'Anybody singing the blues is in a deep pit yelling for help." I think that goes for singers from most genres. Some people's voices come from a place that many people do not ever want to go. Perhaps they sing to purge themselves of the memories and thoughts but instead of being healed, sometimes hell's magnet only drags them down deeper. Drugs and other self-destructive behavioral choices temporarily dull the pain but many succumb and join the 27 club. Just as we listen to music to take us to another place temporarily, singers sing for the same reason. It's okay to lose yourself in good blues music but just don't stay there too long. Today we're goin' with Blues music and rock songs with black or blue in the title or lyrics If you ain't in the mood for blues, that's OK!
VVV is always open thread- Post your favorite songs and stuff from any genre. We'd love to see and hear them. Feel free to sing along and dance, you know you want to! It's all about Eyes that Spy... ... about Looking and Seeing, Peeking and Peeping. It's about the People, Places and Things you might see while out on the town, or driving in the country, or sitting around the house. Don't forget those things you might see that aren't really there. I Spy with My Little Eye... Take it where you will. Recommend! |
