Some are ever hollow Some are full of lies Some are evil; menacing Some are old and wise Some are full of mischief Some are full of fear Some are deep and soulful Others full of tears Some are ever roving Some are ever cold Some are ever staring Some are even rolled! Some are ever flirting Some are green or blue Mine are eyes That can’t disguise The love they hold for you written by Gayle Rodd Obviously this thread will be about eyes.
Additionally, any of the words in the poem above can be used as keywords. So…since it was snowing when I drove home, it got me thinking (OH NO!), let’s pull out all the tunes that deal with those two opposite temps. Hot and cold… Songs about fire! Songs about ice… Songs about hell… And ones about winter… It’s another one of my threads about two completely different things, joined at the hip. Tonight’s keywords? OK…tunes and bands with Fire, Hot, Flame, Burn, Summer, Ice, Freeze, Cold, Winter and Snow in the name…that should get ya’ll started. Here at Triple V, we like to keep an open mind, so if you want to post something “off thread” or obscure, then do it. Odds are, someone may want to hear it. And THAT’s why we’re all here. To hear that one song…that makes us say “I haven’t heard that in a long time”…or even better…”I’ve never heard that tune before!” Things like that are what we live for! Have fun and treat each with respect. Call me lazy, call me uncreative. It really doesn't matter. It's not about me, it's about the music. Yes, I am piggy backing off yesterday's thread, where Joe was asking for songs with two words in the title and today I am asking for three words in the title of songs to post. If this ruffles your feathers and gets your underwear all bunched up, oh well. No skin off my back, because........ Keeping it simple today. If you are game, post songs like these......... If the theme doesn't do it for ya, I can dig that! Do not fret, VVV is always an open thread. That means you can post any Rock tunes you feel like sharing. Or just check out the dozens of songs being posted. Unbunch your underwear, relax, and enjoy. No reason to be upset with the author over a dumb theme, play any Rock & Roll that makes you feel better. Last, but not least! Please follow VVV's Golden Rules.
Happy (wet) Monday! It’s another soggy day here in the Northeast. Tonight, it’s what I like to call a “listener’s choice” thread. All you have to do is post up songs or bands with only two words in the title or name. What could be easier? Sky’s the limit tonight…be creative as you like… Or go with tried and true classics! This is one of my all time favorite tunes! So…what do you think? How many two word songs can you come up with? I don’t think we need any keywords tonight…but there is one song in particular I’m looking for. Obviously, ya’ll will need a few hints. OK…my name is in the song (hehehe), and it deals with a particular location on my property. I practically told you the answer. Have some fun and follow my simple two rules. Treat each other with respect and play jammin’ tunes! One last thing…feel free to slip in any holiday tunes you want…tis the season! Hey all. Today we’re gonna find songs with days of the week or months in the title. Yeah....not as deep as my ambiguous title would suggest, but really, who wanted it to be? It’s an easy topic, but if you’re just not interested, keep in mind that this is an open thread. Enjoy...
There are plenty of songs in all genres dealing with Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll. Many extremely talented musicians don't survive Sex, Drug and R & R unfortunately . There will be no shortage of crankable tuneage on Vintage Vinyl Video today. As far as the Sex theme goes try to remember innuendo is always better than the blatant in your face stuff so choose wisely. Are you ready to Rock ? If you don't like theme please feel free to just play your favorites from any theme and genre, we would love to hear them . Gifs , short videos and friendly chit chat and banter are always welcome. Let's share some music and have some fun. Thanks for dropping in to VVV, your home for classic rock and other good stuffs. :-)
Who's dancin'? It's the last full moon of the decade and it's the weekend!!! Woo Hoo! today we're posting songs and videos related to dancing. If a video has a good dance number in it, throw it down. The tango? The rumba? Moonwalk? It's all good. If you're not into dancing that's cool too cause on VVV it's always open thread. We're just here for a good time. Feel free to get up and dance- YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!!!!!
The fear of Friday the 13th is called friggatriskaidekaphobia. Frigg is the Norse goddess whom Friday is named after and triskaidekaphobia means the fear of 13. It's also known as paraskevidekatriaphobia, which is based on the Greek word for Friday. Here’s some weird superstitions of some Rock n Rollers Rocker Meat Loaf is a big and beefy kind of guy, who just happens to have a collection of teddy bears. Teddy bears? Anyway, he will not, just will not, travel unless his beloved teddies Mani and Marietta are there with him. OK, reportedly he also believes his teddies can come alive. The Bat Out of Hell star insists the bears get backstage passes, and also maintains that their facial expressions change. The Gun N' Roses front man (and only original band member) has had a turbulent, controversial kind of life. Periodically, he has disappeared from sight, and was recently the subject of a death hoax. No, Axl Rose is alive, if not well. His superstition is fittingly weird: He believes the letter "M" is evil, or cursed, or whatever, and he refuses to perform in a city that begins with "M". Additionally, he reportedly travels with a psychic and believes that he and former girlfriend Stephanie, were lovers in previous lives. To top it all off, his ex-wife has gotten up in court and said he believes he is possessed by Led Zeppelin's John Bonham. Okay, that's probably enough. Keith Richards was named by Rolling Stone, as the 4th best guitarist of all time. But great or not, he has a food thing. Well, maybe a control thing. In spite of the Rolling Stones song "I Ain't Superstitious", Richards is just that. He insists on Shepherds Pie being served to him on tour. And what's more, he has to be the one to break the crust in his private "tuning" room backstage. If anyone else touches it, it's reportedly back to square one and a new pie must be produced. In fact, on one occasion, when someone else got to the pie first, Richards went into a flaming, booze-fueled fit and fired the group's head of security. Security for a Shepherds Pie? Other rituals? Keith has to have a snooker table set up backstage so he can play before each show. Robert Plant irons his shirts before performing, saying "I find ironing helps get me in the mood before I perform. I always have an ironing board in my room before I go on stage." Feel free to post some of your own superstitions
Ciao, my friends! Sorry…Howdy and welcome. I was thinking…since Mr Baggins brought up “fall colors” the other night, I would focus on two NOT fall colors. Come on, how many tunes and bands can you think of with either Black or Blue in the title? And since we’re talking about bruises…let’s include songs about pain… Songs about doctors and hospitals too… Now this isn’t rocket science…it’s all about the music. If you want to go off thread and post something, then by all means, do so. Just remember, we’re all here to have fun so follow our simple rules and relax. Oh yea…I found my empty box Twinkies in the garage…someone has some explainin’ to do! Hahahaha! |
