Howdy, fellow Veegers. The 1970s were a fertile decade for Rock-N-Roll to say the least. Rock matured quickly thanks to the foundations of the 50s and 60s, and there was an explosion of new bands playing some good and very adventurous music. It branched out into Hard Rock, Southern Rock, Blues Rock, Progressive Rock, Glam/Performance Rock, Jazz/Rock Fusion, and finally Punk/Alternative Rock later on in the decade. There was something for everybody, along with the Top 40 hits too. Vinyl was still king, although 8-Tracks appeared (mainly for cars) and cassettes & reel-to-reels a few years later. Let's start whackin' away at the 70s...we have a lot of ground to cover. Of course it wouldn't be a thread if I didn't remind everyone it's an Open Thread, so if the 70s ain't your bag don't be afraid to put up some other Rock songs you'd like to share with us. Following our House Rules is strongly advised too, otherwise we'll send you to some other time and place, probably one you don't like. We can do that, you know. We have ways. Moo ha ha.
